Entry Requirements

University Matriculation Examination: Students intending to major in Geology or Applied Geophysics must satisfy University and Faculty of Science admission requirements. They must have at least five credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry at the Ordinary Level of the General Certificate of Education or Senior Secondary School Certificated Examination.

Direct Entry: Candidates with two “A” Levels passes in Geology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics or Higher National Diploma (HND) passed at (Upper Credit) may be offered direct entry into Part II of the degree programmed provided they satisfy the requirements for admission to the University and the Faculty of Science.

Requirement for the Award of a Degree:

To be eligible for the award of a degree, a candidate must satisfactorily complete a minimum number of 154 units of course work comprising the University, Faculty and Departmental requirements. Students who are admitted directly into the Part II of the programmed may be exempted from courses adjudged equivalent to the required foundation courses.
