I am a Paleontologist/Biostratigrapher with expertise in the use of calcareous nannofossils in resolving subsurface geological/structural problems. I have taken the profession beyond the classroom, having erected a calcareous nannofossil zonation scheme for the Niger Delta and the entire Gulf of Guinea region which is currently a reference material in the Oil Industry. I am one of the pioneering Biostratigrapher in the use of wellsite biostratigraphy to resolve drilling challenges across some Nigerian sedimentary basins (Niger Delta, Benin/Dahomey Basin and the Joint Development Zone (JDZ) covering Nigeria and Sao Tome & Principe segments). I have developed a keen interest in field geology and presently working on a review of the stratigraphy of some of the sedimentary basins in Nigeria. I am the current Head of Department of Geology and a member of the International Nannoplankton Association (INA); and a registered member of the Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG). He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (FNMGS), Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, and Fellow, Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom (FHEA).

I am a Regional Petroleum Geologist with interest in Key Elements of Petroleum System. These I have pursued for some years now working on basins in the Eastern part of the South Atlantic Margin (Gulf of Guinea) with works on Orange Basin, Niger Delta, Benin Basin and Liberia Basin. There are also some efforts on the Inland basins in Africa like Karro in South Africa, Malawi Basin in Malawi, Niger, Chad, Benue Trough in Nigeria. There are some on-going works on Anambra and Sokoto Basins in Nigeria.

Dr. Oyebanjo is an Economic Geologist with extensive experience in geological mapping and mineral resource assessment. He is a member of the Working Group on Green and Critical Minerals Development in Nigeria, where he contributes to policy-relevant research and the development of strategic frameworks for critical mineral utilization. He currently leads a research project focused on developing an exploration model for lithium in Osun State. By integrating geochemical and mineralogical techniques, his work enhances predictive targeting and strengthens resource evaluation methodologies. His research advances the scientific understanding of lithium-bearing systems in Nigeria and contributes to broader discussions on critical mineral supply chains and sustainable resource governance.

Alao-Daniel (Ph.D) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geology, Obafemi Awolowo. She graduated in 2007 from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a B. Sc. Degree, Second Class (Upper Division) in Geology. She obtained M.Sc. and PhD. Degrees in Applied Geology of the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2012 and 2020, respectively. During her doctoral studies, she was hosted as a research affiliate student at the University of Western Cape, South Africa during which she underwent several trainings, fieldworks and attended seminars.
Her fields of specialization include: applied geochemistry and mineral exploration.
She is currently working on the use of geochemistry as a tool in mineral exploration and environmental studies. She is a research team member/secretary on an ongoing TETFund sponsored Research Project on Lithium exploration within granitic pegmatite in parts of Osun State, Nigeria with focus on the development of model for lithium exploration in Nigeria. She is also an Investigator under the auspices of Accessing Geoscience Education in Africa, Norway (2020 till date).

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. My specialization is in Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, with research interests in groundwater resource assessment, water quality evaluation, groundwater modeling, and the impact of engineering activities on water systems. I teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and have published widely in the areas of hydrogeology, hydrogeophysics, and environmental geoscience. Dr. Ademakinwa George Oni is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He is a geophysicist who specializes in and researches near-surface geophysics, including but not limited to engineering and environmental studies, groundwater exploration, mineral exploration, agro-geophysics, and archaeo-geophysics. Dr. Oni’s core teaching areas are electrical methods (self-potential, induced polarization, and electrical resistivity), electromagnetic methods (VLF, GPR, AFMAG, and magneto-telluric), and applied courses – engineering, groundwater, and environmental geophysics. Still, he is also very vast in potential field methods (gravity and magnetic) and seismic reflection method, leveraging on over fifteen years of experience in both theoretical and field practice, as well as expertise in advanced software such as ArcGIS, Oasis Montaj, Surfer, DIPROFWIN, WinResist, Earth Imager, MalaVision etc in conducting cutting-edge research. Dr. Oni has twenty-six (26) high-index published articles, covering all his areas of research interests. Through his research, a template for exploring and developing productive and sustainable groundwater was developed. His research in geo-archaeology pioneered the application of geophysics to detailed archaeological prospection in Nigeria, throwing light on the ancient history and technology of Yoruba and African archaeology. Dr. Oni’s current research focuses on developing models for effective waste pollution site characterisation, precise mapping of leachate pollution plume, geo-archaeology of potsherd/stone pavement, structural mapping, and mineral exploration for lithium ores and bitumen deposits. He has supervised several graduate students and a few post-graduate students.

My research interests centre on late Mesozoic – Cenozoic climatic changes and biostratigraphy. I am particularly interested in the paleoenvironmental conditions of deposition of ancient sediments using foraminifera as proxies to the understanding of the prevailing physico-chemical conditions at seafloor. I also teach related courses such as micropaleontology, sedimentary geology, historical geology, invertebrate paleontology and paleoecology.

A passionate and field-oriented Geologist with strong foundation in Structural geology, Petrology, Geochemistry and mineral exploration, Remote Sensing applications in geological mapping.I hold a B.Sc. in Geology (Second Class Upper) from Obafemi Awolowo University after a National Diploma in Geology (Distinction) from Federal Polytechnic Ede. I have also interned with Ningde ERA Industrial Ltd (Ganfeng Lithium, China), contributing to the exploration and geochemical evaluation of lithium-rich pegmatites. My research portfolio includes investigations into: Fluid-rock interactions and structural controls on mineralization, Geothermobarometry of high-grade metamorphic terrains, Geochemical and industrial evaluation of clay and talc deposits, Multispectral and remote sensing techniques for mineral prospecting. I integrate modern tools like Google Earth Pro, ArcGIS, Envi, Oasis montaj, Rockworks, Surfer, Grapher, stereonet, EllipseFit Software, and Microsoft office 365. I’m currently working on an Integrated GIS-Based, Airborne Data with Petrological approaches to enhance Structural mapping and Mineral Exploration within the Ife-Ilesha Schist Belt a Significance Metallogenic Province of Southwestern Nigeria. I also aspires to pursue doctoral research in structural geology and mineral systems, with emphasis on fault-controlled fluid flow, multispectral characterization of alteration, and the formation of vein-hosted mineral deposits.
