The Department of Geology runs undergraduate degree programmes in Geology and Applied Geophysics and postgraduate research degree programmes. Since its establishment some forty years ago, the Department has graduated over 1000 students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Today, these graduates occupy key positions in the solid minerals, petroleum (oil and gas), environmental, hydrogeological and other sectors of the Nigerian economy, including politics and the academia.
